Colombia is engraved by more than four decades of armed conflict and generalized violence that put the civilian population at risk of forced displacement, forced recruitment of children, murder, widespread and systematic use of sexual violence, landmines, and confinement. For the time being about 10 % of the population are considered to be internally displaced, and with a population of about 45 million this accounts to between 3,7 million people (according to the state) and 5,2 million (according to non-governmental organizations).
